Octavo, original half green cloth, brown paper boards, original dust jacket. “To Kill a Mockingbird” had an original print run of just 5,000 copies, many of which went directly to libraries. The dust jacket shows the original price of $3.95 at the bottom of the front flap while Jonathan Daniel reviews appear on the book’s back flap. The rear panel portrait of author Harper Lee was photographed by Truman Capote. To Kill A Mockingbird became both an instant bestseller and a critical success when it was first published in 1960.
